Adding Integers

Subtracting Integers
- You can use tiles to subtract integers: $(+3)-(-7)$
We need enough red tiles to take away 7 of them.
Model $+3:$
Since there are not enough tiles to take away -7 , add 7 yellow tiles and 7 red tiles. Now take away 7 red tiles. There are 10 yellow tiles left.
