Problem

A bike accelerates uniformly from rest to a speed of \( 4 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s} \) over a distance of \( 28 \mathrm{~m} \). Determine the acceleration of the bike. \( \left(\mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}\right. \) unit

Solution

Step 1 :1. \(v^2 = u^2 + 2as \)

Step 2 :2. \(4^2 = 0^2 + 2a(28) \)

Step 3 :3. \(a = \frac{16}{56} = \frac{2}{7}\) \(\mathrm{m}/\mathrm{s}^{2}\)
