Problem

Paying attention to units is important. When solving for energy, power needs to be measured in kilowatts \( (\mathrm{kW}) \). If power is given to you in watts \( (W) \), what do you need to do to convert power into kilowatts \( (\mathrm{kW}) ? \)

Solution

Step 1 :\(P (\mathrm{W}) \Rightarrow P (\mathrm{kW}) \)

Step 2 :Divide power in W by 1000

Step 3 :\(P (\mathrm{kW}) = \frac{P (\mathrm{W})}{1000}\)
